Welcome to Dinsley-Trincity Gov’t School

Dinsley-Trincity Government Primary School was a national Alliance for Reconstruction initiative which was constructed and formally opened by the then minister of Education Mrs. Gloria Henry on the 13th November, 1990. Assigned to the post of Principal was Mr. Anthony Garcia with Mrs. Eva Peterson as vice- principal, twenty eight teachers and nine persons comprising the ancillary staff.

Located within one of the most recently and developing upscale residential complexes along the east-west corridor, the school population continues to fluctuate, and the structure which was originally designed to accommodate six hundred (600) students now has an intake of over seven hundred (700). This has brought about resultant increases and staffing and an urgent need for increased space in order that the school’s developmental objectives may be realized.

Despite changes at administrative levels as well as among teaching and ancillary staff, Dinsley-Trincity Government continues to function as a microcosm of activity which is focused on the pursuance of the holistic development of our students. Our continued quest for excellence in educational pursuits has required the consistent upgrading of teacher skills/ effectiveness in the classroom. It is out of a shared vision and consistent commitment and dedication, that staff members have been participants in various Workshops/ Seminars/ Courses in Mathematics, Social Studies, reading, Computer Literacy, Science, Agriculture, Critical Thinking Skills and Integrated Arts.

Owing to the absence of a community center in the area the school over the years has accommodated the following activities:- neighbouring pre-school graduations and anniversary exercises, karate classes, meetings and activities organized by the Trincity Residents association, as well as various religious groups, Aerobic and dance classes, courses organized by Community Development, Weddings, Concerts (Wallace School of Music), Camps organized by the Ministry of Sports and Niherst and more recently Ballet classes.

The school’s website went online in 2008 and we hope you will find it a valuable resource. As always, we look forward to your input. If you have any suggestion on how we can improve this website to better meet your needs, please contact us and send us your ideas.
